The Brashear Tigers pick up a pair of road wins in Tri-County Conference action.
The Brashear Lady Tigers got off to a good start taking a 10-6 lead after 1 quarter and led 21-13 going into halftime. Brashear extended their lead 31-17 after 3 periods of play and picked up the win by a margin of 40-24. Emily Ladwig led a balanced Tiger scoring attack with 10 points, Jessi Hill had 9, Hailee Kelsey added 8, Caroline Slavin had 6, Stephanie Elsea had 5, and Abby McKim scored 2 points. For Bucklin, Jessica Sorenson and Heather Main had 6 points each, Amber Liebhart and Alyssa Ware had 4 each, and Brittany Gall and Paige Casady scored 2 points each.
In the boys game, the Tigers spent the 2nd quarter trying to dig themselves out of an 11-4 hole they had dug for themselves in the 1st quarter. Brashear ended the half still trailing 18-16. The second half was a see-saw battle as neither team could hold a lead. The score was tied 29 all at the end of the 3rd quarter and was tied 39 all at the end of regulation play. The 1st overtime period didn't produce a winner as the score remained tied 41 all, but the Tigers finally got and kept a lead in the 2nd overtime and got the double overtime win 51-45. Trae Treasure, Matt Thomas, and Kale Watson were all in double figures for the Tigers with 15, 13, and 11 points. Ryan Ferdig chipped in 6, Jacob Shipman had 4, and Kiley Watson scored 2 points. For Bucklin, Ben Williams scored 14 points, Ray Buck Thomas had 13, Chad Jackson had 9, Ethan Jackson had 5, and Jared Main scored 4 points.
